It's Lovettsville
Loudoun County's northernmost town, on the Potomac

A small town that still feels like a small town
Tucked against the Potomac River near the West Virginia and Maryland lines, Lovettsville is Loudoun County's northernmost town, and one of its most distinct. Founded by German settlers in the 1730s and known early on as "The German Settlement," the town has held onto that heritage in ways you can still see and taste today, from the architecture downtown to the beer tents at its annual Oktoberfest.
It's a place that has grown without losing its shape. A revitalized Town Square brought new restaurants and shops in without erasing the main street feel, and the surrounding countryside, featuring working farms, small wineries, and horse pastures, is still very much part of daily life here.

TOWN FOUNDED
German roots,
Loudoun soil
Every September, the town's German heritage takes center stage at Lovettsville's Oktoberfest — three days of local beer, bratwurst, and a genuinely small-town crowd that draws visitors from well beyond the county line. The Lovettsville Historical Society Museum keeps that history close year-round, with artifacts and programming on the town's German settlers and its Civil War–era past.
Outside of downtown, family farms, a handful of boutique wineries, and quiet country roads make Lovettsville feel more rural than its distance from Leesburg or Dulles would suggest — which is exactly the draw for a lot of buyers who land here.
